Have you done all you can?
During the 2010 winter Olympics I watched an interview with Apolo Anton Ohno where he spoke about his training leading up to the Olympics. In this interview Apolo makes a good point that i have adopted in my life. "Have you done everything you can today" Apolo explains that every night when he goes to sleep he reflects on his day and assesses whether or not he has done everything he can that day towards training for the Olympics. I think that we can all adopt this principle in our lives. Whether you are looking to advance in the work place, loose weight, or compete at the Olympics, you have to periodically ask your self is this the best thing I can do? For instance when I am in the gas station looking to get a drink before training, class, or going on a trip I ask myself how is going to help me in my journey? If the drink is milk, gatorade, or water the answer is yes. If it is a coke, mountain dew, dr. pepper, etc the answer is no. So when it comes down to it the answer is easy. I know that purchasing a coke is going to jack up my blood sugar, cost more money, make me tired, etc....so after I realize this, the choice to buy water or gatorade is really simple. So have you done everything you can do?
